Helen Henderson was born in Liverpool, lived in Malaysia as a child, went to big school in Bath then trotted off to Africa.
To keep up with their three adventurous children, she and her husband have spent time in California, Texas, Abu Dhabi and France. They now live back in Bradford-on-Avon, near Bath.
Helen retired from teaching to focus on writing and illustrating and to spend more time with her grandchildren.
Jump Eric Jump was the first to be published in a series of seven bedtime stories for little creatures.
Run Molly Runwas the second book and Sing Lena Singis the latest in the series.
